True Sport was built for the industry, by the industry.
At SportWest, we are committed to fostering a positive and inclusive sporting environment, and your input is invaluable in shaping the future of our sporting community. We are excited to invite you to participate in the True Sport Future Initiatives Survey. This survey is a crucial step in our ongoing efforts to understand and adapt to the needs and challenges of our members. Your feedback in collaboration with the 'True Sport Future Initiatives Framework’, designed by the University of Western Australia, will directly influence future initiatives developed by True Sport to better support the Western Australian sporting industry.
SportWest partnered with researchers from the University of Western Australia (UWA) to develop a robust evaluation framework and a ‘True Sport Future Initiatives Framework’, guided by a set of criteria for assessing future initiatives aligned to True Sport’s purpose. With the Framework developed early 2024, an additional prioritisation process and criteria were developed to guide a priority system for which initiatives are of most value in a timely capacity to the industry.
Future Initiatives Framework
A partnership with UWA Professors Ben Jackson and Dr. Michael Rosenburg Future provided an opportunity to build a robust and informed Future Initiatives Framework and assessment criterion for True Sport. This provides SportWest with research-backed frameworks and criteria to appropriately assess future initiatives in line with the strategic direction and values of True Sport. These documents form part of the supporting documentation.
SportWest and UWA have developed a ‘Prioritisation Process’ including criteria and indicators for True Sport Future Initiatives. The prioritisation of initiatives can be guided by six (6) criteria. There are two (2) categories:
Category One: Impact criteria (3) appraise the value and potential outcomes of the initiative for SportWest and the wider community.
- Significant Issue
- Project Impact
- Coverage and Population
Category Two: Feasibility criteria (3) appraise the process and extent that the initiative can be implemented as proposed.
- Stakeholder and Community Engagement
- Practicality
- Sustainability
